Necessity of Travelling

Traveling allows you to meet people of different cultures, with diverse traditions and distinctive lifestyles. It is a part of education. There is a wise saying that home-keeping youths have ever homely wits. It means that a man, who passes his life in one place and never leaves his home or native place to visit other places or countries, lacks a wider outlook. As you travel and discover these newly found worlds, take a moment to reflect not only on the differences that you observe in their lifestyle and behavior but on the things that unite us. From time immemorial, man has a great thirst for knowledge. He always wants to see the unseen and know the unknown. A man has the indomitable spirit to explore the region of knowledge which is beyond his reach

Traveling is important for humans. History tells us that man is eager to quench his thirst for knowledge by traveling. This man wants to go out and see great cities, mountains, lakes, rivers, seas, deserts, etc. He also wants to know different nations, their manners, customs, and religion. Again today, he may want to do business with people of other countries. Sometimes, he may want to get rid of dullness and monotony by going out for a travel. So we see that some people travel for pleasure, some for education and knowledge, and some others for business. Travelling, no doubt, enriches our knowledge and broadens our outlook. We are communal creatures that are all of the same species, yet our location determines societal actions based on cultured and governmental laws.

In ancient times, traveling was difficult and hazardous. It was full of perils and hurdles. Then travelers had to suffer a lot for want of conveyance and communication facilities. Travelers like Ibn Battuta, Hiuen Tsang, Marco Polo had to face serious troubles in their journeys. But their indomitable spirit and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge could not resist them from traveling. We find this spirit in the legendary character Ulysses of poet Alfred Tennyson uttering his unquenchable thirst for knowledge and indomitable spirit for traveling: I cannot rest from travel, I will drink life to the lees.

It was never so easy to travel the world as it is nowadays, so if you are living in this generation, you should consider yourself lucky, to begin with. Nowadays traveling has become much easier. The inventions of modern science have made it cheaper, quicker, and more pleasant. It has now become possible to travel a long distance within a short time. Travelling is of great value and importance. Education, in the true sense of the term, maybe made perfect only by traveling. Secondly, it helps us to realize the vastness of the creation of the creator. The world is full of so many wonders and mysteries that lie scattered all over the world. A visit to some of these places will give us an idea about God’s creation. Moreover, traveling ensures better understanding between nations. It helps us to know various nations closely and to be friendly with them. Thus traveling plays a positive role in establishing and upholding world peace which is the crying need of the present world.

As the benefits of traveling are many, we should try to go on a travel to the best of our capabilities. The benefits of traveling are not just a one-time thing: traveling changes you physically and psychologically. Educational institutions of our country should attach much importance in this regard and should come forward to provide greater facilities to their students to undertake tours to various places of importance home and abroad. If you have a full-time job and a family, you can still travel on the weekends or holidays, even with a baby.
