Osteoporosis – Due to decrease organic bone matrix, so decrease osteoid deposition in the bone. It is a situation that weakens bones, making them fragile and more likely to break. It develops gradually over quite a few years and is often only diagnosed when a minor fall or sudden collision causes a bone fracture.


There normally are no symptoms in the premature stages of bone loss. But once your bones have been undermined by osteoporosis, you may have signs and symptoms that include:

  • Back pain, caused by a fractured,
  • Loss of height over time
  • A stooped posture

  1. Lack of physical stress of bones (immobilization),
  2. Malnutrition,
  3. Lack of Vit C, Ca++, Vit- D,
  4. Postmenopausal lack of estrogen,
  5. Old age,
  6. Cushing syndrome,
  7. Hyperparathyroidism,
  8. Thyroidism.

The most common injuries in people with osteoporosis are:

  • wrist fractures
  • hip fractures
  • fractures of the spinal bones (vertebrae)
