Multinational Corporation (MNC)

A Multinational Corporation (MNC) is a corporation that has its facilities and other assets in at least one country other than its home country. So, it is a corporate organization that owns or controls the production of goods or services in at least one country other than its home country. Such companies have offices and/or factories in different countries and usually have a centralized head office where they co-ordinate global management. MNC play a leading role in technological innovation, R&D investment, and patenting.

Very large multinationals have budgets that exceed those of many small countries. Multinational Corporation is an enterprise operating in several countries but managed from one (home) country. Generally, any company or group that derives a quarter of its revenue from operations outside of its home country is considered a multinational corporation. It is an enterprise or company based in one country, which operates its activities in several countries or countries through foreign-owned or controlled subsidiaries. Nearly all major multinationals are American, Japanese, or Western European, such as Nike, Coca-Cola, Wal-Mart, AOL, Toshiba, Honda, BMW etc.
