Co-enzyme: Few enzymes that contain non-protein parts (Prosthetic group) with their protein parts are said to be conjugated enzymes. The non-protein pan of the conjugated enzymes is known as prosthetic group. If the prosthetic group is made of organic substance it is said to be co-enzyme.

Examples of co-enzyme:

  • FAD (Flavin adenine dinucleotide)
  • NAD (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide)
  • NADP (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate)
